Emily Anderson posted a No. 1 singles victory Saturday as the Gonzaga University women's tennis team fell 6-1 to No. 43 Boise State University at the Nordstrom Tennis Center in Seattle, Wash.

 

With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 3-12 for the season, while the Broncos improve to 11-2 overall.

 

Anderson earned the win at No. 1 in singles play with a three-set victory over Bianca Jochimsen (7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (5)). The Zags were unable to earn additional points during the singles portion of the match, dropping position's two through six in straight sets. Aglaya Kokurina fell to Polina Kokoulina at the No. 2 position (6-1, 6-2), Sydney Lederhouse hfeel to Jana Mackova at the No. 3 spot (6-1, 6-2) and Kendall Bates fell at the No. 4 position to Klaudia Wlodarczky (6-0, 6-0) Carrie Schofield and Courtney Lau rounded out singles play falling at the No. 5 and 6 positions, respectively.

 

In doubles action, Boise State swept all three matches to earn the point. The Zags' Anderson and Bates fell at No. 1 to Kokoulina and Mackova 8-1, while Humphrey and Lederhouse dropped a close match at the No. to Tiffany Coll and Jochimsen (8-6). At the No. 3 position, Lau and Schofield dropped an 8-2 decision to Laura Baum and Wlodarczky.

 

The Bulldogs return to the courts Sunday when they face the University of Washington in Seattle.
