Zags Finish Season With 4-2 Loss To Portland

MALIBU, Calif. - - Emily Anderson of the Gonzaga University women's tennis team posted a win at No. 1 singles in the Bulldogs' final match Sunday, as the Zags fell to sixth-seeded University of Portland 4-2 on the final day of the West Coast Conference Championship held in Malibu, Calif. With the loss, the eighth-seeded Zags finished the tournament in eighth place and round out the season with a 4-18 record. The Pilots, who finished seventh, improved to 11-12 for the year. Anderson and Aglaya Kokurina were the lone Bulldogs to post earn points for the afternoon. Anderson posted a straight -set victory over Christina Feyen (7-6, 6-3) at No. 1, while Kokurina posted a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Megan Sporndli at No. 2. Kendall Bates, Sydney Lederhouse, Courtney Lau and Carrie Schofield all fell in their respective matches. Doubles matches were not played due to rain. No. 6 Portland 4, No. 8 Gonzaga 2
