Women's Tennis Returns Home to Host Idaho

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga women's tennis will face a northwest non-conference foe in Idaho at home Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Stevens Center.

Gonzaga will begin a five-match home stand this weekend.

The Zags are coming off a two-match road trip to Tempe, Ariz., this past weekend. They defeated UNLV 4-2, and fell to No. 20 ASU 4-0. Doubles tandem Sophie Whittle and Gracelia Rosas beat the then-No. 28 ASU duo Savannah Slaysman and Tereza Kolarova, 7-6 (3). This victory propelled Whittle and Rosas to No. 29 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.

Zags Down Idaho in Instant Classic
Haruna Tsuruta clinched a thrilling 4-3 comeback win over Idaho. The entire dual lasted 4:12, and Tsuruta was on court for well over three hours for her singles match.

In singles play, the Zags are led by Domonique Garley, who has yet to lose a match this dual season. Following is Whittle, who is 2-1 this season and Ketels who is 2-2.

Whittle and Rosas are 2-0 in doubles play at the No. 1 spot, with Ketels and Garley at No. 2 with a record of 2-2.

Idaho is 0-1 so far, this dual season, falling 7-0 at Washington State on Jan. 20.
