Women’s Tennis Begins WCC Play against BYU

SPOKANE, Wash.—
Gonzaga women’s tennis will wrap up their five-match home stand and begin West Coast Conference play against BYU Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Stevens Center.

Gonzaga is on a four-match win streak, following a 3-0 week that included GU winning WCC Singles and Doubles Players of the Week awards.

Zags Sweep into First WCC Title Match
The second-seeded Bulldogs advanced to the final match of the WCC Championships Friday with a 4-0 win over sixth-seeded BYU.

The nation’s 29th-ranked doubles pair of Sophie Whittle and Graciela Rosas earned their sixth consecutive win and are 8-1 on the year after a 6-1 win. GU’s duo of Nevada Apollo and Ashleigh Jacobs were the WCC Doubles Team of the Week as well, going 2-0 last week.

In singles play Domonique Garley clinched the match for the Bulldogs 7-6 (4), 6-2. This added to her 11th straight singles victory on the year. Apollo, who also was part of the WCC Doubles award, was named the league’s Singles Player of the Week, going 3-0 in three matches last week.

BYU is currently 3-2 on the dual season, after falling 2-5 against Denver.
