Women’s Tennis Garley Adds Two More Titles at ITA Summer Circuit Event

For the second straight tournament, Garley dropped just one set in singles play on her way to the title. Garley, the No. 5 seeded player in the Women’s Singles 1 bracket, advanced to the round of 16 with a first-round bye and made quick work in the round of 16, defeating Elizabeth Gilbert 6-2, 6-2. Garley followed it up with a 6-3, 7-6 (3) win over Madison Ballow in the quarterfinals and advanced to the title match with a 7-6(5), 6-2 win over No. 1 Janice Shin in the semifinals.
In the title match, Garley won the first set over No. 2 Delara Zamani 6-3, but Zamani rebounded to take the second set 7-5. With the match tied 1-1, Garley won the match tiebreaker 10-7 to take the title.
In doubles play Garley paired with Tiffany Hollebeck, and the pair earned the No. 2 seed for in the Women’s Doubles 1 bracket. After a first-round bye, Garley and Hollebeck battled Armelle Cerdan and Taylor Gruber in the quarterfinals, earning the 8-7 win to advance to the semifinals. Garley and Hollebeck won both the semifinals and title matches by walkover.
