Layne Brosky's Collegiate Career FRESHMAN (2006):Played in 26 matches, 90 games...came out of the gates strong, finishing with double-digit kills in three out of GU's first four matches...closed out the season with 171 kills, 53 digs, 51 blocks, nine service aces and eight assists...had seven double-digit kill contests, including a career-high 17 against North Dakota State (8/26)...collected 14 kills, along with four digs and two blocks against Saint Mary's (11/16)...finished with a career-high six blocks against Idaho (10/3)...had a career-high seven digs versus Loyola Marymount (10/26). SOPHOMORE (2007): Played in 29 matches, 101 games...204 kills, 47 digs, 55 blocks, six service aces and 22 assists...had seven double-figure kill contests, including a season-high 12 against both Bowling Green State University (9/7) and Pepperdine University (10/4)...finished with 11 kills and four block assists against Sam Houston State University (9/15)...collected nine kills, a career-high 10 digs, along with two block assists and three service aces against Saint Mary's College (10/27). JUNIOR (2008): Played in all 30 matches, including 114 sets...was second on the squad in hitting percentage (.265) and third in kills (252)...also contributed 21 assists, 44 digs and 41 total blocks...registered 13 double-digit kill matches, including seven in WCC action...tallied a career-tying high 17 kills in both matches against the University of San Francisco (10/4 & 10/30)...finished with 15 kills and five digs at Washington State University (9/10)...had three block assists on five different occasions...tabbed WCC honorable mention...named to WCC All-Academic fall team.
