2017: Earned All-Academic Honorable Mention accolades...started 28 matches as a junior...led team and finished eighth in WCC with 5.84 assists per set, second on team with 277 digs...also second with 11 double-doubles on season...moved into fourth in rally-scoring era and eighth all-time with 1,895 career assists...first double-double came Aug. 25 versus Air Force with 14 assists, 15 digs...35 assists in Zags' five-set win over Arizona State Sept. 1...equaled career high with 18 digs Sept. 9 at Grand Canyon...26 assists, 18 digs in win at Santa Clara Sept. 28...34 assists, three aces two days later at San Francisco...30 assists in sweep of San Francisco Oct. 26...ended year with two double-doubles...career-high 57 assists, 15 digs while playing all six rotations Nov. 20 versus Portland.

2016: Started all 28 matches as a sophomore...set career-high with 273 digs, 2.65 per set...also added 585 assists, 11 kills, nine aces...moved to No. 10 on all-time assists list at 1,258...led team with 16 double-doubles...began season with 29 assists, 17 digs Aug. 26 versus Butler...career-high 39 assists along with 19 digs Aug. 27 in win at Utah...dished out 26 assists Sept. 9 at Nevada and 35 a day later against Southern Utah to earn spot on Utah Volleyball Classic All-Tournament Team...28 assists, 11 digs Oct. 6 to help GU claim first-ever victory at Pepperdine...dug up 15 attacks Oct. 27 at San Francisco...double-double of 32 assists, 12 digs Nov. 5 to complete season sweep of the Waves...27 assists, 14 digs Nov. 19 in home finale against Saint Mary's.

2015: Played in all 31 matches, starting 28...also played in 117 sets...led team with 673 assists, 5.75 per set...second with 17 service aces...also third with 244 digs, 2.09 per frame...19 matches with 20+ assists, nine with 10+ digs...nine double-doubles...posted double-double with 17 assists, season-high 18 digs Aug. 29 versus Portland State...followed up with 29 assists Aug. 29 versus Boise State...27 assists Sept. 12 versus Southern Utah...equaled season high with 29 assists during three-set sweep of Saint Mary's Sept. 26...posted 26-assist, 11 dig double-double in sweep over Pepperdine Oct. 10...season high 31 assists and 10 digs Nov. 5 at Pepperdine...wrapped up season with 20-assist, 14-dig double-double Nov. 23 at Portland.

High School: Played three years at Point Loma High School…led Pointers to CIF Division I title as a senior, earning the CIF Sportsmanship Award and City Western League Player of the Year as well…named First Team All-League all three seasons at Point Loma.

Club Experience: Played club ball at Coast Volleyball Club in San Diego…helped Coast win the Triple Crown National Championship in 2014, the Junior National Championship Open Division championship in 2014, and also take third place in the JNC Open Division in 2015.

Personal: Parents are Kim and Steve Smith…has two brothers: Kalib and Logan, who played football at San Diego…majoring in business and wants to get into coaching after graduation…chose Gonzaga because “it was the best program; not only were the coaches and teammates amazing, but the school itself is incredible and beautiful”.
