LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Playing its third-straight, and seventh overall five-set match, Gonzaga University women's volleyball couldn't produce the same magic as it did in its last two matches as it dropped a 3-2 decision to Loyola Marymount University Thursday at Gersten Pavilion in Los Angeles, Calif. The Bulldogs fell to the host Lions 26-24, 9-25, 25-17, 23-25, 10-15.

Gonzaga now holds a 9-14 overall record and a 4-5 mark in the West Coast Conference. Loyola Marymount improved to 11-13 overall and 2-8 in conference action.

The Bulldogs had two players hit double-figure kills. Senior Michelle Boevers had a team-high 16 kills and classmate Layne Brosky chipped in 10. Sophomore Kelsey Bashaw was one kill and four digs away from a triple-double as she tallied nine kills, passed out 25 assists, dug six balls and added three block assists.

The Lions, who held a decent size kill advantage over the Bulldogs at 76-53, had four players finish in double-figure kills, including Alaina Bergsma who tallied a match-high 32 on 71 total attempts for a .268 attacking clip.
