VB's Martin Centre Videoboard Upgrade Complete
Sept. 1, 2017
SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga Athletics completed the replacement of the existing videoboard and scoreboards inside the Martin Centre, home of the GU volleyball program this week.
The new Daktronics videoboard and scoreboards, funded entirely through the benefaction of Gonzaga Athletics donors, upgrades the fan experience inside the Martin Centre.
“We want to thank the generous donors for this fantastic upgrade in our facility. The new videoboard and scoreboards are going to add an element of excitement and inclusion for the fans,” volleyball head coach Diane Nelson said. “They are beautiful, and the high definition screen makes the action come to life.”
The volleyball program’s home venue upgraded both endwalls with new scoreboards, including a 12-foot by 9-foot videoboard on the east wall. The videoboard replaces an existing screen with expanded capabilities for delivering high-quality content. As the second phase of the project after soccer’s videoboard addition, the Martin Centre upgrades will be followed by new videoboards inside the McCarthey Athletic Center and at the Patterson Baseball Complex and Washington Trust Field.
The Gonzaga volleyball team will play its home opener on Friday, Sept. 1, against Arizona State at 7 p.m. The match is part of the Gonzaga Invitational tournament which also features Portland State and Nevada.
