Facts

The Martin Centre provides the Gonzaga community with more than 121,000 square feet of indoor recreational space. The complex includes a fieldhouse with eight racquetball/handball courts, indoor jogging track (1/11th of a mile), and three basketball/volleyball courts. The Pavilion includes a weight room, exercise room, dance studio, two basketball courts, locker rooms, and the Offices for the Athletic Department. A full sized pool occupies the third building of the complex.

Centre Hours

Monday - Thursday 6:00a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Friday 6:00a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Saturday 10:00a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Sunday 10:00a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Entrance Procedures

  • ID must be shown upon entrance.
  • All members of the Gonzaga community (faculty, students and staff) are eligible for use of the Martin Centre.
  • A valid Gonzaga ID must be shown upon entrance to the complex.
  • Persons using the Martin Centre complex may enter the complex from the north through the second floor atrium entrance (down the stairs) or the first floor south atrium entrance during all operating hours. Spouses may accompany their card-carrying partner at any time. Immediate family (children) may accompany a card-carrying member of the Gonzaga community and use the Centre from 5:00 p.m. Friday evening through 8:00 p.m. Sunday night.
  • Family members must enter, participate and leave with a member of the Gonzaga community.

Lockers

A locker is offered for both men and women, at no charge. Lockers are for DAY USE ONLY. Locks that remain on the lockers at the end of the day will be cut off.

Equipment Checkout

Various recreational equipment may be checked out intramural/recreation check out room (PV 125) by submitting a valid Gonzaga ID. Availability of equipment and hours of operation are subject to budgetary restraints.

Racquetball Court Use

  • No black-soled shoes
  • Eyeguards are MANDATORY
  • Rubber guards must be on all racquets
  • Safety straps must be on all racquets

Weight Room Use

  • No food or drink, except plastic water bottles
  • Shirt & shoes required - no sandals
  • Valid ID must be you with you at all times
  • Collars must be used with free weights
  • Spotter must be used with free weights
  • Do not drop weights
  • No weights can leave the weight room
  • Replace all weights after use
  • Use the machines for their intended purposes only

Exercise Room

  • No food or drink, except plastic water bottles
  • Shirt & shoes required - no sandals
  • All equipment must remain in the room

General Rules

  • Martin Centre is a health and recreation facility. No smoking is allowed.
  • Martin Centre has a computerized climate control system. Do not prop doors open.
  • No bicycles are allowed in the building.
  • No skateboards or rollerblades allowed.
  • Proper footwear must be worn at all times. No black-soled shoes allowed on courts. No cleats allowed at any time.
  • No food or drink allowed in the fieldhouse, weight room, exercise room or dance studio.
  • No golf allowed on University grounds.
